1.0 Update!

Notch has officially released the 1.0 "final" of Minecraft. We will be working hard to update our current 1.8 setup and plugins to this latest version.

In the meantime, you can play either 1.8 on our regular map setup, or 1.0.0 on a new temp map.

The server IP for the 1.0.0 temp map is play.minecraftcc.com:23456

The rules are PvP/Hardcore. General server rules still apply.

Be sure to make a backup of your old minecraft files in %appdata% before updating in case you want to revert back to 1.8!

I dont know if that was sarcasm. What happened to 1.9?
Also this explains why not a lot of people have been on. I was getting worried!

1.9 was all pre-releases. No point in trying to build our main server around a prerelease.

Is it bad that I look at the changelog and just go 'meh' to most of the new features. I'm not seeing anything that really interests me. Minecraft just went a bit too mythological IMO.

I disagree. The potions and enchanting have some interesting dynamics, and many of the effects feel right at home with the other minecraft elements.

Well, to me minecraft has lost the "This is your world" game that it had in Alpha. I think Notch spent a little too much time on adding things as opposed to making it stable. And if I'm not mistaken (and I'm sure lordikon could correct me) if a game goes into Beta doesn't that mean that less gameplay features are implemented and it gets more stable? Personally, Infdev, Indev, Alpha, Beta, and release are all just made up names that Notch uses to get us excited because this isn't really a game release its just another update that add new mechanics that I'll probably have little to anything do with (I haven't even touched redstone and thats been in forever).

It looks like Skyrim and Minecraft collided. Dragons, potion enchantments all going to Minecraft. The Notched pick axe, mining, cutting down trees going to Skyrim

I agree. Alpha for me was this huge, exciting but creepy place where you could build whatever you imagination could think up. I feel it was more about the mining and building back then but now its just got out of control. I feel that, with Minecraft, Notch was sailing along the brink of crazyness but he made it work. Then he throws in magic, potions, dragons and new mobs and I just feel he feel off the boat.

It doesnt feel any different to me. Nothing requires me to use the potions or enchantments, and a dragon?! where is there a dragon?! (slight sarcasm there, I know theres a dragon, but its not flying around in plain view) I dont use the wiki, I just get on and play, and Ive learned to mine, build, and even mess with redstone to make some crazy stuff. But since its no interest to me, I've never tried to mix potions & such, and not using them doesnt effect my game at all.

The game is still what you make it, and if you dont like potions, dont use them, it wont change anything. If your just there to build and survive, there is no difference other than survival being more difficult with hunger and stronger mobs. oh and less bugs (before you say there are still alot of bugs, think back to the multiplayer days when each block needed to be broken 3 times before it disappeared. bugs we have now aren't even close to being as serious)

Yes, the good ole' multiplayer days of yore! I actually started right after the Halloween Update... I played classic before then, forgot about it. Came back, played it again but this time on a multiplayer server and blown away at some of the stuff on there (turns out it was a griefed server with pillars of blocks spammed everywhere, yet I was intrigued) it looked pretty cool. So I bought myself a alpha copy. Joined this server... hmm a couple months after that? The end. /endoflifestory

May I ask why you're not using the latest development build of bukkit? It is surprisingly stable, and most plugins work with it. I have a small server myself for me and a few friends, and we are running the latest dev build. We use lockette, and it still works. I don't know about permissions, as I don't use it, but essentials works just as well as it always have.

Please answer this small question, I would really like to know.

Lack of time to set it up. Oli's working on getting our regular server updated to 1.0.0, and I'd rather he do that than worry about making bukkit work with our temp server.
