A new Town

im looking to build a new town but as a non vip i know how fustrating it can be to be denied access to a certian town or community. so i aspire to make a town who accepts eveyonw. (excespt grievers and theives of course.) what im looking for is:
Builders (to build)
Landscapers (to level ground)
material gatherers (hints in the name)
and mayors to help me run the town.
all those who help me will be paid depending on how much work they do and guaranteed a perminant position in the town. (unless you break the rules). so if your interested in helping me build this community please message me on the forums or talk to me in game. thank you.

branny666, While the idea is good in theory, there is a major problem with anything a Guest can access. It would not be difficult for someone to act like an upstanding member of the community, and then greif and steal from their neighbors. The reason most towns are VIP exclusive is because VIPs are a LOT less likely to grief.

Don't take it as some form of eliticism, it's simply a precaution.

Cheers branny, good luck with the project!

@PD400 - non-VIP's need towns too, even if it is more risky. ;)

Ugly, lawless towns... Towns filled with the have-nots of the (minecraft) world.

Just kidding. I'll donate some cobble for the project, if we're ever on at the same time give me a shout.

(Oh my, is Frothing actually being nice? Say it isn't true!)

Stop being so elitist, you've been doing it to me since I've got here and still are

Acshiom,it wasn't elitest, he even pointed that out. He was just stateing that it is safer for vip's to live in vip citys because they have paid and stand to have something to lose if they were to get banned.

Basically, non-VIP towns are good for non-VIP's, but not so good for VIPs, since they have a better option of being far far away from spawn.

On the other hand, have you all noticed how we are ALL tending to build close to spawn anyway? Even VIP's? I think the desire to show off one's building talent is outweighing the risk of griefers. Especially, now that we have the ability to roll back major greifing.

Aschiom, I have talked to you twice. Although you do tempt me to respond in anger, I won't, for 'tis rude.

Anyway, Alost summarized what I meant a lot better than I did. Yes, non-VIP towns can work. However, I don't trust the rollback feature to always be around, and so I figure why forget the mindset we're used to. Although, since the rollback update I actually have moved FURTHER from spawn.

Rollback wont save your chests, which for most people actually are more valuable than the house they live in. Plus, theft is much more common than random arson, IMO.

Just my tidbits.
