i was banned because i was griefing or what ever you guys call it so here it is.. i was just going through this guys house and all that but my friend i was working with was killed by them so i just went in to get his stuff back but when i was about to leave the owner of that base or house came online and i have some tnt on my and i just placed it down to defend myself against him if he did come or came at me so yeah there is the whole story i think or hope.

The way I see it, andinski was just caught in the act of stealing and used TNT to defend himself. I'm sure if Pvt killed andinski or was able to disarm the TNT this ban appeal wouldn't of had to be made.
We, don't really have good terms with pvt as they have back stabbed on a truce. In its essence, we just stole what they took from us. It is a pvp server after all. Although TNT is related to griefing, it does not appear to be used in such a context.

By my understanding, it also looks like there used to be pumpkins in those spaces. Andinski did claim that he used the TNT for defensive purposes. Depends on which perspective you take. You could argue the well placed TNT in replace of the pumpkins could be used to set off a chain reaction if they came close, successfully taking them all out if they did proceed to come closer. Placing the mines would just assure that if they did come after him that the "area of effect" of the TNT would stop them in their tracks and allow him to get out in time if they did log in. Instead he just got banned? It isn't like he set them off for griefing purposes. Heck, they weren't set off at all from your screen shot.ultimateironman said:

edit: I think it comes down to what you consider a pvp to actually be? If TNT is so undesirable that placing it as traps can easily be considered griefing then it should just be removed from the server. I'm sure andinski understands that further use of TNT would be problematic. He is a regular.
There is a claim of rebuilding? Lava traps are legit are they not? They were all over their hidden chests. I hope that is not considered griefing if they placed lava near their hidden chests.

Under the current rules for the PvP server, any placing of TNT within the confines of a home is forbidden. The fact that it can be disarmed with water does not excuse the breaking of this rule.

This statement does not seem, to me, to reflect what is seen in ultimateironman's picture with 100% accuracy.

like holy crap the cake was a joke like he said and all that and jov i never knew that tnt in a house was forbidden i should of asked but i never knew everyone can make mistakes every once and a while right? so why cant you guys let this go?

I personally have not seen any rule specifically relating to the use of TNT, except for "spamming".Jov said:

In defense, it is a pvp server. Not to sound offensive or anything, I would have assumed that meant player versus player where anything applied.Jov said:

Domino, thanks for bringing up the rules. I have clarified them, in that TNT is not allowed in someone else's home/base. This is the wish of the majority of players who play on the PvP server, hence the reason for the rule.

- I do not believe that the TNT placed was ONLY in defense. If you are trying to defend yourself with TNT, you don't take the time to place it into neat little holes in the floor. You're probably running backward, facing the player, and putting TNT wherever you can find a hole.
- It is the player's responsibility to know the rules of the server. Saying "I didn't know" isn't an excuse.
- The rule at spawn says "2. No griefing, except to enter a home and look for chests". That's pretty clear that you shouldn't be destroying someone else's house, TNT or not.
- I am curious to hear about this luke person who stole on the build server. What is his name? We don't always catch people in the act, but if you have some more information, I'd like to hear more.

I think it might be good to consider that although he was banned he is not raging or disrespecting any of the user base here. He took the time to make his case known and hasn't said anything on the lines of "Your rules are stupid; your admins suck, etc."

I have to agree with Domino on this one. Obviously, ignorance isn't above the law but, he has basically apologized so perhaps an inventory wipe is in order and a final warning. You've unbanned people for more flimsy excuses (and worse spelling and grammar.)
