Failing to connect to both servers

Hey guys,

lately (past 5 days) I've been unable to connect to the server, as mc updates randomly, i do not know if it's me, the mod's i run or the server. I browsed the forum a bit, saw that the server was offline yesterday, but i cant connect for the last 5 days, when i try to connect to the build i get:

"internal client error: java.net.connectexeption: connection timed out: connect"

this is permanent, never changing error, as i had no trouble before, i dont see where this could be coming from, my internet speed is great, the only thing that might be a problem is my laptop itself, but since it has not given any trouble before, i'm confused.

if i try to connect to the pvp server, I get a message saying that i'm not a premium user, I'm thinking that can be possible if we're still running temp. maps, but for now, i have no idea where i'm at.

please reply with some usefullness.

Guys, you have to keep trying. The server was down for a bit, but it's been up most of the time. The authentication servers have been mostly non-working for the last few days. If you keep trying, you'll get in eventually. It takes between 1 and 40 tries, from what I've heard from other users. I can often connect within the first 10 tries.

This is a Notch problem, not a problem on our server's end. If you check his blog, you'll understand more... notch.tumbler.com.

You'll get the "not a premium user" error if you try to connect while improperly logged in to the client or minecraft.net. Or it could just be a random authentication server issue.
