Floodgates?

So I've had a need recently with redstone finally working to utilize doors for floodgates. Unfortunately as I'm sure you already know water doesn't flow through open doors because apparently they're made of magic :S Anyway one of the moderators made mention of a server mod that could possibly fix this and allow water to flow through doors, creating the ability to make lever operated floodgates. Anyone know what the mod is, and is this something that would be viable for this server?

If somebody could find this mod, I would love it for the server. It would work well for the PVP severs as well, due to the fact that this can be used for advanced traps. I'll try to get on finding this.

I know you can control water flow with redstone, but it doesn't reset - it's a one-time thing. I remember someone showing me a combo lava/water system that would actually start and stop water flow with redstone, but I can't remember how to do it or who showed me. Nucks maybe?

Anyway, it IS possible with the current tools in the game, I just haven't figured out exactly how yet.

=S Could you please try and remember Spike? As part of The Citadel's defences, I intend to incorporate gravel gates controlled by torches becoming extinguised by a water flow that act as 'blast doors', sealing off a section of the structure in the case of a lava or water spill, or in the situation of an intruder.

Globey, that may have been me that showed Sgt, or I showed someone else that showed him.. Next time you see me in game ask and I'll show you. It is only one time use before needing a reset, but it still works well for traps.

Thanks, the blast doors I'm using aren't going to be used that often, so it would work just the same. Does the water continue to flow through a closed door though?

Well, craftbook is out. Tihzz already deemed it too far from Vanilla to be used.

Well, was actually me denying it through Thizz, but yeah, no craftbook here. I want this to be a server where people brand new to online play can join up and know exactly what to do (assuming they've played SP already). Too many mods with a bunch of extra "features" just messes with the spirit of the game IMO.

If there was a way to JUST enable the floodgates, I'd consider it. Or if it was a separate mod altogether.

i can do that, and i can stop a lava flow and start it too >

Stop one? Marine taught me to start one, but it seems impossible to stop one with redstone.

just lead a button to a water flow, that leads above the lava (before the hole lava exits and it will turn the lava to cobble stopped it
