How do we get new members?

This website is pretty high in rank for some particular google searches, so that might be part of it. Youtube videos definitely get a lot of hits. The poll I created though, seems to indicate that the vast majority is through word of mouth. Someone likes the server, so whenever a friend of theirs plays minecraft, they tell them to join and play on this server. And then that person tells their friends about it, etc.
We wouldn't get nearly as many new players if the server wasn't so epic that everyone had to tell their friends about it.

Theres one big thing everyone can do! On the homepage is a 'Vote For Us' button, if everyone does that every day we should be on the first page on Minestatus (we have been before) that will net us a huge amount of players. Remember, we need to keep doing it as votes reset every month. If you like our server, let everyone know.

alright i just got one question thats been nagging at me.... i mean no offense when when i say this but
what would having more people play our server actually do besides having more work for mods and admins?
i know new people are great and all but some leave because theres too much people and no one sees their questions.

I think it benefits the community in the form of more people on each world. Sometimes, people will get on PVP and complain there is no one to fight, or not enough people on games world to play CTF, etc. But it certainly does mean more work for mods. TBH, I do like the size of our community as it is now.

To sustain the size we have now we do still need to get new people in, in order to replace those who get bored of the game or move on to a different server. If we did not try to encourage more people in the server would eventually die.

A thing that could be done, would be having the water ride moved to creative. That way everyone can go and try it out! Also hopefully when the trailer is released, we will have people watch the trailer and think: "i can TOTES do that too! i better go on the server and show im just as great a builder!"
