2 days ago mt friend cikkirock called me and told me a player named "vancanskull" had assaultet ouer base on the PVP server i know your allowed to steal from chests but are you allowed to break the floors? (and not replace the blocks) also i had a large amount of iron and gold (BLOCKS) that are now gone. i just want my stuff back if it was taken in an illegal way

update: he also flooded the base...

ok, you where not online at the time but i did some research and found your base and looked around.

you are allowed to search for hidden chests, and that usually involves digging small holes in suspect area in the floor or walls. i assume any holes you are refering to are ones made while looking for hidden chests, while i was there i didnt see any extreme grief from looking for chests.

as far as the flooding goes.....YOU placed a water block, then put some cobble there, then destroyed the cobble , thus allowing in the water that flooded the base. and you did that a week ago.

also, your base is very dark now because he stole all your torches. bring a sword with you when you go to retrieve anything from the base.

hopefully he didnt find all your hidden chests, because you will want to move your home to a new location.

To add to that, Taking Iron and Gold blocks is not considered griefing, they are high value blocks, and if you have left them around.. well they were free to steal.

Ok thanks for letting me know so soon, i was looking for some more detailed PVP rules but i werent able to find them... just so that I know next time, if you remove the floor are you not ment to replace the destroyed blocks. Also im sorry for wasting your time.

aportex, you do not have to replace any blocks that are removed - you just can't destroy parts of a building without good reason (good reason being looking for a chest).

Also, you are allowed to take any blocks from a person's house if they are considered valuable. Valuable would be anything that isn't dirt, stone, wood planks, or cobble.

no no, you're fine in asking. Moderators can make mistakes too, so your asking if he did something wrong is fine, it helps keep us in check And thank you for asking about it in a proper way. You didnt throw out claims that he was hacking or that hes a jerk or anything like that.

Just a heads up, but mods need to be accountable too, if you have a question about something you think might be borderline, then don't hesitate to ask, regardless of if it's a mod or not!
