Joseph1212, eman314, silverzone2 griefing Terraria server

The above three players have been using hacked items as well as griefing spawn on the Terraria server. They also have stolen, as well as cursed.

Eman is banned, but the other two seem to not realize the regular rules extend to Terraria. They also continued to spawn high level bosses and killed all of the NPCs on the server. I request action be taken against them.

Screenshots from those present will follow...

Update: Silverzone didn't do anything.

Sgt, eman keeps relogging on new accounts. Could you put a simple password on the Terraria server?

Hmmm... it doesn't appear as though I can ban a player if they are offline. If you see Joseph log on again, let me know ASAP.

Also, I would put a password on it, but wouldn't it be simple for Joseph or anyone else to simply look at our site for the current password?

Not if they are banned from viewing the forums; otherwise, yes they can. You could move the details to a vip section, though that obviously limits the terreria server to VIP's only. And anyway you put, the PW would likely be leaked before long anyway. Also IP's change, and a simple proxy would show him as in an entirely different IP range. Really all you can do is either deal with it as it happens, or white list it, if thats possible.

No one is ever banned from viewing the forums - they are only banned from posting on them.

If he wants to keep changing his IP and getting various IP's banned, he can do that. It's a waste of his and our time, but...

Normal server rules?
Bollocks...
That means my character name is a bannable offence... >_<

My one qualm is that you mentioned griefing was allowed. That doesn't make sense, in my opinion. I know we can't track anything, but if we get a screenshot that is certifiable proof of griefing, couldn't that constitute a ban?

Also, we need to add a rule about spamming bosses with items. Hacked or not, it's griefing as it kills EVERYTHING.

Is there a screenshot that would prove another player is griefing? Can you get an "in action" shot? The reason I say that is that screenshots for griefing doesn't really work in Minecraft - it just looks like a person is standing next to a griefed structure. I am wondering if it is the same way in Terraria, or if you can actually tell that someone is breaking blocks?

Seeing as it's in third person, it is a little easier to see. It would still have the same restrictions a normal Minecraft screenshot would have, but in theory, I feel we should enforce it.

When you're not doing anything you won't have an item out, at all, and only certain items destroy certain blocks - So yes, it does look like they're doing stuff in the screenshots if you get a screeny.

Ok then, no griefing it is. Take screenshots if you see someone doing it!

Eh, what's the point? How many other people actively play Terraria? It doesn't seem worth the resources when its so simple to just make a new map, plus I'm told Terraria loses its fun once you collect everything. I've never played so I'm unsure. However, based on whats presented it doesn't seem like it was worth it that much... Seriously, how many mods even play Terraria from the sounds of it Sgt Spike doesn't even seem to play.

I'm not saying, I'm just saying.

Well, Jacca plays, plus Loader and I, so that's one mod and two ex-mods, as well as a bunch of VIPs and regular players who play. There is quite a strong community that plays again.
