Minecraft.cc Jail

I would personally love this idea because it would be down-right hilarious. We could make a jail cell out of like bedrock, then make the doors Non-breakable. And if they really want to play on the server again, they would have to go for a certain amount of time in one of the cells.
If we do this, I personally request it near spawn so I can laugh at all the rule breakers in this server. :twisted:

We actually do have a mod that puts people in jail, but it hasn't been tested yet with Bukkit. We'll see if we can get it going again.

May I suggest, if you do activate that mod. Please post the rules as to what will get you placed in that jail. If, for instance, looking into someones chest get's you banned or destroying some blocks that someone placed (that might be tricky on group projects) it would be nice to know these rules like a week before the plugin activates or we will all be in jail for a short while.

Very interesting read about jails and their problems... For me personally, not worth the time of setting up a jail, catching a griefer in the act, tping them to jail only for them to leave in 30 seconds. Besides most people are banned after they have griefed not during.

Frothing, it'd be permanent if they were put in the jail, unless they were unbanned.

Basically, /jail (or whatever the command is) would strip their inventory, automatically teleport them to the jail, and disable the use of any /commands, all permanently. The only way they would be released is to /unjail them, even if they logged off and back on again. Oli wrote a working plugin for hey0, it's just a matter of porting it over to Bukkit. I, personally, think it would be awesome.

I'm sorry if I was confusing, I just meant it would be nice to know what would put one in jail. If it's the same server rules, then yes I can understand that. After re-reading my original post it is confusing for me. I shall strive to make use of the preview button from now on and read it out loud!

Yes - but that's still a use of their time. Maybe it would be possible to have an auto kicker for people afk longer than 30 seconds in the prison area?
