Just a tip here, If you don't want the lead to smudge put a piece of paper under your hand to seperate your hand from the drawing :pBut, I do like them :D

Not bad^ What do you use? wood or a mechanical?

smudging is always a pain.. Ive been drawing for years. Only recently I invested in a can of clear acrylic to finish my stuff. I was tired of going back later and finding all my stuff smudged, just from being stored.

another tip, If your really into drawing..since like i just said, paper itself can smudge.. Invest in a small piece of 1/8" thick plexiglass to rest your hand on. That way you can still see what your drawing, it wont smudge, and wont be effected by moisture from your palm. Just gotta go to a place that does picture framing and you might be able to just get a scrap. If i can find some old scans i might post them up here. Odd that we have music threads, but no real art threads.. Especially since we seem to have quite a few people that draw.

Nice, glad to hear it^ (Mechanical makes alot cleaner/consistent lines for details, woods better for shading(in case anyone was wondering why i asked))

Horse EyE?! Here i thought you were all into horses and now your drawing dissected horse parts... creepy

Yea, I simplified the question alot, I say i use mech and wood, But my mechanical, is a thick lead drafting pencil, and I have about 10+ different hardness wood ones(fancy wood?), not including the charcoals. does a paper stump count as a pencil too? Im amazed how expensive drawing can be..

couple oldies I did in my work notebook while I was in Iraq in '06. Took the pictures a while later.. they both got a little smudged..
Angrycnsrd.JPGAngle1.JPG Ignore that black bar... Its sad how art needs to be censored, but I just went along with the rules.. 2nd really caught all the light around.. Its acually really dark. Caught too much shine off of the graphite and I dont have a professional studio to take good photos.
I dont usually draw 'people', this was really my first and last attempt. Now I stick to animals and architecture/landscape.

I don't draw people. Unless I have to in art class, Im mainly an equestrian artist. Altho I have been interested in cat art recently;)

no. i cant do anime, people is not m strong point.
if i wanted to draw animie id have to work on
1) body shapes 2) how to draw women 3) hands and fingers 4) crazy anime hair 5) those wired eyes they get when they are sad or trying to be pitaful/cute 6) legs 7) feet 8) naything else i might have missed :D
so anime is not happening for awhile i guess. also I'm generally bad at drawing people all in general. once i get something i deam worthy ill post it.
