Got the 2GB installed - let me know if you see an improvement in server performance! It didn't seem to want to boot up with another 512 in there, so we'll stick with 2GB for now.

Probably incompatable ram. Runs great so far! Seeing a lot less lag, but it is still there. CPU upgrade being looked forward to!

Thanks for posting the map Spike.

It'd be interesting to see the tunnel view for that map. I still can't believe I wasted 7 hours digging from the very bottom right of that map back to town, never doing that again. :p

I'd be willing to upgrade the tunnel if we had some way that I could put teleportation points in the tunnel for use. But otherwise I'd have to bring a bunch of stuff in the tunnel, walk for 30 minutes to do the work, and then teleport back to the spawn. It'd be far too time consuming.

Lordikon... you can use /setspawn and /sethome to have two TP points, just FYI.

I didn't know about /setspawn. Two TP points will definitely be more helpful. I could use it to work on the tunnel and then teleport back to town, and then teleport back to the tunnel part I was working on. However, if I go that route, I will then have no way to TP back to the base at the end of the tunnel.

I can see why opening up teleports entirely could be bad for a few reasons. It'd be nice to give everyone 5 or something, like /sethome1, /sethome2, etc...

Yeah, I wish there was a way to give people a limited number of teleports. We may have a solution that would get you most of the way there, but the mods need to discuss it first.

Sounds good. Also, just a heads up, /setspawn is an 'unknown command' when I try and use it. Maybe it is an admin only type thing where it sets the spawn point for everyone.

Looks like you are right, setspawn is global, for all players, and only accessed by server admins.

We'll try to get a better solution for moving around on the map soon.

After digging that huge tunnel, I wonder what a cave view would look like in cartograph? It'd probably take 5-10 minutes to generate though. Still....it could be epic.

Are you still planning on doing a high-speed run-through video of the whole tunnel?

Gonna work on it more tonight, add a lot of signage, and redstone torches near cave entrances. Anyway, thanks for the help with the tunnel last night. We did end up making it all the way through to the base by about 2:15am MST. I'm so tired now....game is too addicting.

Cartograph fails... won't make a map without crashing. So, *shrug*?

Definitely planning on a high-speed run through video though, that'll be awesome. I'll probably do it tonight, now that it is finished.

I might be able to use that video to determine where to put the "mile-markers" which will say how many minutes it is to the nearest city/base.

I wonder how much RAM is needed to cave view a map that large? Maybe that's why it is crashing.

Added another two slots, and also properly configured the server to take advantage of more ram.

Again, let me know if you experience any lag!
