Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have chestprotect. But apparently, the chestprotect mod does not get updated any more, at least it has not been working for weeks.
People keep making new protected chests, and then a server reset causes the chestprotect data to be lost - and the chests become free4all.
And "we" keep telling them to use "/cp 2" and then to place the chest. It's as if we were elitist griefers: "Just /cp your chest. (durrhurr)", and the next day we loot it ("They should have buried their chests!").
People are in a false sense of safety, and we do know that!
People would hide their chests if they'd know that this is the only way to be save from looters. But the way it is now, they have to get the feeling that this server totally sucks!
Imagine to be a foreign player coming in and going through that experience - to realize that chestprotect does not work and the moderators do not tell them that, instead the mods say "do /cp 2 and place your chest". What would you think of the server when you come the next day and your stuff is gone, and you even get to know that we were aware of the repeating chestprotect reset?
This is just wrong, ok. And the only proper way I see to solve this at the moment is to take chestprotect off entirely.
We would take other non-working mods off, why not this one? Because it appears to be working? Because it works for at least half a day? BUT THAT IS EXACTLY THE PROBLEM!
