This is what'll be in the update
In one or two cases, I might be mistaken and that thing comes "soon" but not with the Thursday update.
* There will be a
new Mob living in water. Friendly? Hostile? No idea.
* You can "craft"
cake. Needs milk, sugar (=reed), wheat,
eggs.
link
* There will be craftable
music blocks. They are activated with redstone, instrument depends on block underneath. Right click changes note to be played.
link So, we'll soon have door bells, dungeon music, and the harvester builders should leave a little room to implement redstone wiring.
* You can
dye blocks. Only wool blocks, as far as I know. So, I guess animals will be turned back on on the build server soon. ("15 colors, somewhat according to the EGA palette", "Some dyes are made from the flowers, but I haven't added any new flowers. You get other colors from other stuff")
link (Later, there might even be paint:
link)
* Paintings will finally work. This will considerably affect the build server, main reason being that they don't have sheep.
link
* If you
shear sheep, they will now look naked.
link
* Not all sheep are white.
link
* The
one millionth customer will have a unique cape.
link (As said here:
link) Once the account has been hacked (which will be massively attempted by the hacking community, and I wonder if even an obscure 30 letter password would be enough protection), maybe Mojang will finally implement a few anti hacking features, for example a login-attempt-delay after a few attempts. Trivial stuff. Also, I think the password is still transmitted unencrypted.
EDIT: I might be mistaken here. It could be that everyone will have this cape for a while to celebrate the million, or every player from 1 to 1,000,000 will have it for a long time. So, forget the hacking rant.
* The
block-destroy-with-dirt&hoe&seed-
exploit will be gone.
link
* The bug that you can
fall through the floor if you pummel your minecart while sitting in it will be gone.
link
* The
food-"dupe"-bug is fixed.
link
* The
server needs updating because "we have changed a lot of stuff in the network protocol" - maybe we'll have much less lag?
link
I strongly recommend to
make a backup of the .minecraft folder between updates so that you can evade updates. (Only the file "version" in the folder "bin" has to be the newest one.)
Hopefully, the GUI bug will be gone. Or am I the only one who experiences it? (Minecraft standalone version (meaning exe, not browser). Windowed mode. Use interface nicely. Press F11 for fullscreen. Press F11 for windowed again. Interface does not work any longer. Only keeps working in fullscreen.)
