Vote to turn build server into surival mode

Hey, I have created this vote becuase ive seen and heard people saying that they want to play SM(survival mode for thoughs that dont know) but clearly as you know, you cant on build server and simlar to pvp.
So i would like people that want SM and play on build server to vote as it would be unfair for them on the build server not to vote.

EDIT:If you select other please post a reply on your sugestion, also if the build server does go to SM this mean that you will be able to die(dun dun dunnnn!) and be able to kill mobs(basicly like pvp but without killing players).

I dun wanna die on build server It would have been practically impossible to make the sphere at the spawn if it was in survival mode.

this is ridiculous! Turning the build server SMP would completely eliminate the purpose of building things on the build server. If anything, the PvP server should be the one becoming SMP, as there is less of a difference between the two game types. Where will we go to build things now? I don't fancy being blown up by creepers and being shot by skeletons, no thank you.

I believe SgtSpike mentioned something about another server, where if you died, you would be put on the ban list for that server until the next day?

I would like that option. Leave the build server and the pvp server as they are.

yeah we need a plugin thats only really option specially if you have dark coridors or somthing you dont want a skeleton walking there and suddenly shooting :shock:

you might end up puting doors and glass blocks all over your house to see mobs and stop you from getting hurt before you see em

WorldEdit has the ability to stop creeper damage all together.

I think we should add mobs to the build server. By doing so, we would unlock many more different colors, which, isn't that what build is about? And if Oliver is right, being able to stop creeper damage, then how can this be a bad idea? I really think this would open an entirely new door for ideas for everyone.

I really like this idea.


Mobs wouldn't break homes, that wouldn't kill us, nor damage us at all. Overrall I see this to be fun to pick on the mobs and get more items for different things.

Oli, is creeper damage a global variable as well then?

It mostly works. The creepers still explode, but then everything that was destroyed is put back again. The one exception is signs, as the text disappears until you reload the chunk by either relogging or tping away then back again. I haven't seen any other problems with it though.

I agree with putting harmless mobs on the build server though. It just makes sense. They'll be annoying at times, but just carry around a diamond sword and a couple swipes will kill anything around you.

Anyone really disagree with putting "friendly" mobs on the build server? And why?

I dont mind friendly mobs, and especially since the wool color update they can be useful. I am however 1000000% against any enemy mobs whatsoever being on build.

I think MOBs can still attack and cause knock-back, which can have potential for incredible frustration if you're building up high. I predict some tense moments exploring caves as well...

Wouldn't TNT become available to the public though, and mean the demise of anything a griefer can see?

Mobs do not cause knock-back with the current type of protection. Creepers can still cause you to fall off of something, but creepers don't typically spawn up on high areas. Mobs could still definitely push you off of something just from being obnoxious and trying to get as close to you as possible.

TNT would still be very difficult to obtain without a harvester, at least in large quantities. I figure anyone willing to put in the time to build a harvester wouldn't be willing to lose all of that just to blow some stuff up. We can roll back TNT damage now as well, just in case.

The vote was for survival mode vs not survival mode. I should have posted my comment in the other vote thread we have going (viewtopic.php?f=9&t=749), which is to enable mobs but have them do no damage.
